Who am I? What am I doing? Where do I go? What should I do? These are real questions. I can think of a million ways to answer these questions and yet be unsatisfied with the answers I come up with. How is that so? It is a strong possibility that the answers I have come up with are not good enough for me. This is what I call uncertainty and discontent.
Unfortunately, this is what most people struggle with daily, both consciously and unconsciously. Can you imagine doing something and not being passionate about it? To simply go through the motions while time passes you by.
Do you find yourself getting a brilliant idea from time to time and begin to consider, “this is it!” You believe without a doubt that this plan is going to solve all your problems. Afterwards, when you have considered the process for the plan, you question if it is worth the time and resources. What happened to the brilliance of the idea? This is what I call dispassion.
So, why should a search for purpose matter? Purpose is the reason for something’s existence and proper function. It is for something specific. It is the reason why a person lives. According to the Oxford Dictionary, “purpose is the reason for which something is done, created, or exists.”
How will I know when I find my purpose? Where do I search? I recommend searching for it within your soul. Where is the soul? The soul is within the body. The soul constitutes your mind, emotions, and will. Purpose is the harmonious combination of your emotions, will, and mind. How do I access this part of myself? One must search their total knowledge for truth to understand their education, memories, religion, society, family, traditions, culture, laws, customs, and desires. You will find out that this is not an overnight search, but a lifelong journey.
So, may I ask, who are you?
